Jaro Egbo Engages Umugini Infrastructure Pipeline Midwestern: Pushes for Community-Centric Initiatives
Ughelli North’s Executive Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo Ksc, in collaboration with his Senior Special Assistant on Oil & Gas, Comrade A. E. Omokpe, recently held a crucial meeting with the management of Umugini Infrastructure Pipeline Midwestern, an oil company operating within the local government area. The meeting served as an official introduction and a platform to discuss the company’s operations in the Eriemu Field.
During the engagement, it was observed that there is a pressing need for Umugini Infrastructure Pipeline Midwestern to enhance the welfare of its staff and increase employment opportunities for members of the host communities. Olorogun Egbo emphasized the importance of these initiatives, noting that they are vital for fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment.
The Chairman further urged the company to increase its annual Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMoU) project fund allocated to the host communities. He highlighted key areas where these funds could make a significant impact, such as empowering widows, providing financial assistance to elderly fathers and mothers, awarding scholarships to encourage educational pursuits among the youth, and collaborating with the local government to bolster security efforts aimed at protecting lives and property.
“Employment of our educated youths and empowerment of our women are our top priorities,” stated Olorogun Egbo, underscoring the administration’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of the oil sector are felt across all segments of the community.
The engagement concluded with a collective resolve to work together towards achieving a better Ughelli North, one that meets the aspirations of its people.
